Getting started
What happens between the first call and your clinic's first patient in Stator, and what you need to have ready.
Stator runs in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer. Nobody at the clinic installs anything, and patients use their own app in their phone's browser too.
1. The walkthrough
Pick a time for a 30-minute walkthrough, on a video call or in person at our office in Victoria Island. We show you Stator on a demo clinic, using the kinds of visits you run. Bring the head physio and whoever runs the front desk, because they'll use it most.
Tell us on the walkthrough:
- how many physios and branches you have;
- whether you do home visits or video sessions;
- whether you see HMO patients, and which HMOs;
- how you keep records today: on paper, in spreadsheets or in another system.
After the walkthrough we tell you what Stator costs for your clinic and what the set-up includes.
2. What to have ready for set-up
Set-up happens in the first week. We'll ask you for:
- your clinic's name as patients should see it, your logo, your colours and your contact details;
- your branches, if you have more than one;
- your visit types and procedures, with their prices;
- each staff member's name, email address and role (see Roles and permissions);
- your HMOs and what each one covers, if you take HMO patients;
- the bank accounts patients pay into by transfer.
3. Set-up
We put all of that into Stator. Your name, logo and colours show in the app, on receipts and in emails to patients. Your clinic gets its own address on statorhealth.com, or uses its own domain if it has one.

Each staff member gets an email to set their own password. Everyone signs in as themselves, and nobody shares a login.
4. Training
Each role gets a short printed guide: one for the front desk, one for the physios, one for the head physio and owner, and a one-page handout for patients.
Before you start, we take the team through one made-up patient, from the booking to the receipt: book the visit, check the patient in, write the note, bill the visit and record the payment.
5. Your first patients
Your paper files stay where they are. Each patient goes into Stator the first time they're booked, and the physio writes a short history from the paper file in their first note. If you're moving from another system, see Moving from another system.
Getting help
Your staff reach the people who build Stator on WhatsApp, by phone or by email at hello@statorhealth.com. Parts of Stator marked (beta) are new. They work, and we watch them closely, so if something looks wrong, tell us the same day.
