Messaging

Patient messaging is off until an admin switches it on with a reply-time promise. How it works for patients and for staff.

Patients can send the clinic a message from their app. Messaging is off for every clinic until an admin switches it on, because a patient who can write to you expects a reply.

Switch it on (admin)

  1. Go to Settings → Patient access and switch portal messaging on.
  2. Write the reply-time promise: how soon the clinic replies, for example "We reply within one working day." Messaging can't be switched on without one.
  3. Save. Patients see a Messages section in their app.

What the patient sees

  • A Messages section, with your reply-time promise at the top.
  • The line "Not for emergencies: call the clinic", every time.
  • A choice of topic: appointments, bills and payments, their treatment, or something else.

A family member with appointments-and-bills access can only write about appointments and bills.

Who replies

The admin, the head physio, the physios and the front desk see Messages in their menu and can reply. The accountant doesn't.

Emails never carry the message

When a patient writes, or when the clinic replies, the email that says so carries only the first name, the topic and the date. The message itself stays in Stator, and the patient reads it in their app.

Every message is kept in Stator's record of changes, like a note or a payment.
